Sven is Managing Director at Duisburg Gateway Terminal GmbH, the largest container terminal in the European hinterland to be. He knows the container business from the ground up; at the beginning of his time at the container terminal, he worked as a crane operator himself. He therefore views operational challenges from a practical perspective and uses his many years of experience as a product owner in a major digitalization project in intermodal container logistics to optimally enable and align processes, technology and people and lead them to operational excellence. This also includes his passion for constantly driving forward automation at the terminal and streamlining handling through end-to-end, digital information flows.
In his career, Sven has managed several container terminals for different logistics companies and was most recently responsible for five locations in Switzerland. He is now working on successfully developing the Duisburg Gateway Terminal, not only to be the largest but also the only climate-neutral container terminal in the European hinterland, and leading it into the future.
