Stefano, currently Technical Director, Head of ITOT & Automation Processes for Terminal Bettolo for the new MSCTiL greenfield terminal in Genoa, Italy, is a professional with over 25 years of experience in within the industrial fields, of which over 20 in the port sector. He has direct and wide international experience, from ground up, directing major infrastructures projects from ideation to design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and servicing. Strong talent in engineering, technology, asset management and operation, he has wide, strategic and visionary views, with solid track record of improving efficiency, quality and cost control through the spearheading and deployment of continuous improvement and “Responsible Research & Innovation” culture and practices, and risk-based decision making.
From 2012 onwards he has been increasing his focus and activities on digitization and data science, with particular attention to the application and opportunities of terminal processes automation, big data (collection, analysis and use), machine learning and blockchain use in within the port and, more generally, in within the logistic field.
He is a strong believer in integrity, people, safety, sustainability, business agility, values-based innovation.
