Jan Cuppens has recently established himself as a seasoned Port Advisor, after a 30 year career in the Ports & Terminals world. His last position has been Vice-President Global Engineering for DP World, based out of Dubai and responsible for Engineering in the 50+ DP World ports globally. Throughout his career he built up vast experience in Asset Management, Engineering Systems, Equipment Specifications, Reliability Engineering, Port Design, Life Cycle Costing and Automation. Jan has been a large part of his career in the field and ran maintenance departments, terminal and automation projects on the ground.
He has been on both sides of the table: equipment/System supplier and – user and is a big supporter of building bridges with operations, safety, IT and all others involved running a terminal.
Jan likes to use the term “structured common sense” in the way he approaches things. What works? What makes sense? What really moves the needle? A down2earth approach in a systematic way is his motto.
