Mikkel E. Andersen is the managing director of the EUROGATE Container Terminal in
Wilhelmshaven. The terminal serves all 3 major shipping alliances with its 8 quay cranes and more than
500 staff. Mr. Andersen oversees the expansion of the terminals handling capacity, which includes the
addition of two new double-trolley quay cranes and the first-ever terminal automation project in the
EUROGATE group.

He also has the overall responsibility for terminal automation in EUROGATE.
Between 2020 and 2022 Andersen, in addition to his role in Wilhelmshaven, led the EUROGATE
Container Terminal in Bremerhaven, where he as Managing Director was responsible for a successful
transformation process resulting in both strategic operational changes and substantial reoccurring annual
cost savings.


In a previous role as COO of the EUROGATE Container Terminal in Wilhelmshaven, Andersen was
responsible for establishing the operation and IT of the only deep-water container terminal in Germany.
Before joining EUROGATE in 2012, he worked for the A.P. Moller Maersk Group in various roles
including postings in Singapore, Netherlands and Malaysia.


Mikkel E. Andersen, a Danish national, is a Maersk International Shipping Education Graduate from
year 2000. He has since supplemented his education with various courses including at IMD, University
of San Andres and Institute of Leadership & Management.
